Decoding Doctrine

Uninformed Christians

Debating every doctrine

Cults in sheep’s clothing

“One man’s cult is another man’s religion.”

Annie Parisse

With over 45,000 different Christian denominations worldwide, churches are constantly debating their doctrines. Baptism is one of many doctrines up for debate. For instance, what is the proper way to baptize: sprinkling, pouring water on the head, or immersing in water? Does baptism provide forgiveness of sins? Is baptism necessary for salvation? Should you baptize babies?

Someone should tell these churches what a Baptist preacher once told me, “You cannot understand the Bible unless you are saved!” Which made me wonder if I was ever saved.

I love traveling with my wife all over the world. I enjoy the study of nutrition and cooking plant-based meals. I consider myself a Christian agnostic when it comes to god and religion. Namaste, Vic

  1. Hi Vic. It drives me bonkers at the way many Christians debate doctrine and pull apart everyone else’s faith except their own. I keep away from churches these days and get more spiritual fulfilment from spending time outdoors and peaceful time at home reading books by non-judgemental and compassionate people.
