Teach Your Children Well

Born knowing no gods

Parents’ indoctrination

Shadows of a child

The indoctrination is so deep that educated people think they’re being objective.

Noam Chomsky

Aldous Huxley once said, “One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them.” When it comes to religion, I think that most of us are conditioned by our parents because more than likely, they were conditioned by theirs. Most of us are not raised to evaluate many kinds of religions so that we can come to an educated conclusion to choose one, or none. Children are the shadow of their parents.

The Best Part of Waking Up

You say you have faith

In a claim yet unproven

Folgers in your cup

I believe in God, only I spell it Nature.

Frank Lloyd Wright

There was once a claim, some might call it a jingle, that says, “The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup.” Well, I would argue with that and change it to “Starbucks in your cup,” but that’s just me. Subscribing to a particular religion for many, many years has taught me that we all have faith in something. I have faith that the sun will rise again, that I’ll have weeds in my yard, and that it will get warm in the summer months. This life force is my god and it is in my heart, not out there somewhere. I don’t have to die to know if it’s true or not. I live in peace, in the moment, and coffee is one of nature’s greatest pleasures. Nasmaste!
